The cheapest repairs are the ones you never need because the fluid was changed on time. Coolant, brake fluid and transmission fluid all break down with heat and age, and each one protects something expensive.

Coolant picks up acidity as it ages and starts attacking the radiator, water pump and head gaskets from the inside. Most cars want it replaced every five years or 100,000 miles. We drain, flush and refill with the correct type for your car; mixing the wrong colors causes real damage.

Brake fluid absorbs water from the air, which lowers its boiling point and corrodes ABS components. A two-year interval is typical. We test moisture content during every inspection and only recommend a flush when the reading says so.

Transmission fluid is the one most people forget. A drain-and-fill every 30,000 to 60,000 miles is far cheaper than a transmission.

Belts and hoses get photographed during every oil change. We replace serpentine belts and tensioners when they show cracking or glazing, not on a calendar.
